Unleash your productivity at these 5 coworking spaces in Liverpool

  • Amenities and vibe: I chose coworking spaces with amenities workers usually need, like fast internet, meeting areas, and comfortable workstations. I also chose facilities that have an inviting atmosphere that stimulates productivity. Having plenty of good coffee is a plus.
  • Accessibility: I gave high marks to coworking spaces that are easily reachable. This means they are accessible by different modes of transport, like bikes, trains, or cars. This is important because it’ll save time and effort and enable you to focus on work.
  • Pricing: I checked the pricing options and looked for those that aren’t too pricey. I also factored in flexibility and gave high marks to facilities with day-to-day payment options and monthly and annual offerings.
  • Reviews: I took time to read reviews and recommendations to understand better what my peers have to say. I specifically looked for positive feedback because it indicates a facility is highly trusted.

Working from home can be challenging—too many distractions, like the couch constantly calling for a nap or the struggle to separate work from personal life. That’s why I turned to coworking spaces.

At first, I wasn’t sure if Liverpool had any good options. However, after exploring, I was pleasantly surprised. Some places feel overly luxurious, but a few truly stand out for their balance of comfort and productivity.

So, if you’re struggling to find a productive, inspiring workplace, I think it’s only right that I share my list of the best coworking spaces in Liverpool.

How much does it cost to work from a coworking space in Liverpool?

It usually costs around £15 – £25 to work from a coworking space in Liverpool. However, factors like the type of workspace rented, length of stay, location, and amenities generally affect the rate.

1. Spaces Ropewalks

Spaces Ropewalks takes open-plan interiors seriously, as its main working area is one ample open space with dedicated minimalist desks—and I’m all for it.

I love this setup because it maximises space and encourages collaboration among like-minded professionals. It’s just unfortunate it only has 23 dedicated desks.

Even so, if you prefer privacy, the facility has 47 private offices and two meeting rooms that are both stylish and fully equipped.

I’m also loving this place’s strategic location. It’s very accessible near railway stations (Liverpool Central and Liverpool Lime Street) and bus stops (Berry Street and Paradise Street). It’s also at Tea Factory, which happens to be the home of this fantastic coffee shop, Mother.

However, I’m just not feeling the rates here. For instance, I think £299 for a month-long membership is too steep, which is among the highest in the city, at least per my experience.

Pros

  • Open floor plan for increased collaboration
  • Strategic location near transport centres
  • Located in a shopping and dining destination

Cons

  • Limited number of open floor desks
  • High pricing

Helpful receptionist

“I’ve rented a co-working desk in Spaces for around 18 months now and it’s a great alternative to working from home for me. As I work a flexible schedule, the 24 hour access is super useful. The office is decorated nicely & the option to sit in the booths/meeting pods is a good alternative to sitting at your desk all day. Lauren on reception is great and is always on hand to help if you need anything!”

Supportive staff and overall a great space to work in

“We have been here for 4 years and Jack and Laura have been nothing but great the whole time. Its been a tricky 18 months for everyone but they have been very supportive. Would recommend – its a great space to work in.”

Clockwise’s homely interior really stood out to me. The facility’s wooden flooring, brick-patterned ceilings, and comfy chairs give it a cosy, home-like feel.

I also noticed that the space is designed for different work patterns. It’s got an open floor area with single desks and long tables for a relaxed, collaborative atmosphere. It also has private workspaces and meeting rooms for intimate gatherings, which I really like.

The amenities here are quite impressive. There’s an ultra-fast internet, club lounges, and dedicated support staff. In my opinion, this coworking space is among the best in the city.

Aside from that, I love their in-house Two Hands Cafe, which serves the meanest artisanal coffees in Liverpool.

However, Clockwise is not open 24/7 and is closed on the weekends, so you may need to find an alternative workspace for those days.

Pros

  • Topnotch amenities
  • Cosy atmosphere
  • Has an in-house cafe

Cons

  • Not open 24/7
  • Closed on weekends

Best location with excellent security

“I’ve been at Clockwise Liverpool for the last four years and have thoroughly enjoyed using their serviced offices and co-working spaces. Over that time, I’ve found so much to appreciate. The location is simply the best in Liverpool, right at the iconic Albert Dock. The décor is fantastic – modern and stylish, yet it beautifully retains the contemporary and historical elements of the old warehouses, creating a unique and inspiring atmosphere. Security is excellent, providing peace of mind, and the service is consistently top-notch. The staff are incredibly helpful, polite, and efficient, always ready to assist with a smile. The facilities are great, catering to all my needs, and the overall atmosphere is brilliant. I genuinely love working there.”

Accommodating staff and amazing space

“Clockwise is the most accommodating co-working space I’ve ever been to. I first found the space by attending a networking event, and the staff promptly gave me a tour of the building along with a free trail of a day pass for the co working space. Since then I regularly choose the office as a space to work in, friendly staff, amazing space and great facilities!”

Basecamp Liverpool has all the amenities you’d expect—dedicated desks, high-speed internet, and private rooms. Like Clockwise, it also has an in-house cafe.

But what I really love is the professional vibe here. I’m not saying other coworking spaces don’t have it, but this place feels different. It’s because the facility is the go-to space for creatives like architects, graphic designers, and innovators like software engineers.

Even better, they readily interact with everyone and dispense knowledge. Basecamp itself has onsite business mentors—successful entrepreneurs and industry experts—who help out. They do so through workshops, one-to-one mentoring, and just being available if you have questions.

However, getting reservations is challenging because membership is usually fully booked. Hot desks are also in high demand, so walk-ins aren’t advisable.

Pros

  • Excellent amenities
  • Lots of creatives and innovators to network with
  • Has an in-house cafe

Cons

  • Hard to secure a reservation

Great desks and a great community

“I worked in Basecamp for just over a year back in 2022/2023 and can’t recommend it enough. The desk space’s are great (and spacious), the office has a great sense of community and Baltic Creative offers plenty of networking opportunities too. If you’re looking for a desk space in Liverpool, this is where you should be!”

– Rachel Johnston, Google Review

Warm and inviting vibe

“I’ve tried a few other co-working spaces in Liverpool but Basecamp is the best by miles. Right in the heart of the cool Baltic Triangle, it’s a warm and inviting studio, with plenty of space between desks, loads of other friendly freelancers and business owners to chat to and collaborate with, and it’s run by one of the nicest blokes you could meet. Whenever my clients come here, they always go away jealous that their boring office couldn’t be like mine.”

Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Saturday: 5 AM – 11 PM
  • Sunday: 5 AM – 10 PM

I checked out 12 Jordan after a friend mentioned its £150/month rate (exclusive of VAT). It’s among the lowest in the city.

To be clear, this coworking space primarily caters to creatives, but non-creatives are still welcome.

Among the amenities here are dedicated desks in an open floor space, 1GB of internet, and free printing. I was also pleasantly surprised that the £150 rate includes free access to a fully equipped 10-person meeting room and a two-person meeting pod (first book, first served).

I’m also a fan of Coffee & Fandisha, the facility’s on-site coffee shop. The speciality coffees it serves are perfect pick-me-ups, while the breakfast and brunch options are delectable.

However, I have to say booking a desk in 12 Jordan can take a while. I actually got a bit frustrated being wait-listed for two months when I first tried out the facility.

Pros

  • Offers free access to a meeting room
  • Very affordable pricing
  • Great onsite cafe

Cons

  • Takes a while to book a desk

A pleasant place to work

Having been here for around 4 months now, I can’t speak highly enough of the offices. The co-working space has been perfect for me, stepping up from working at home – it has a great group of people and the facilities are excellent. Also, the diversity of businesses, (and therefore people!) in the building make it a pleasant place to work that is also good for business.”

– Ben, Google Review

Competitive price with worth-it amenities

“I used and currently still do work in 12 Jordan Street. Rent per sq ft is competitive compared to down town but the presence and amenities are worth it. Interacting with other liked minded companies (read: innovative and bold) in these offices can also lead to valuable connections.”

5. DoES Liverpool

DoES Liverpool is the simplest coworking space on this list, with a layout I’d describe as functional. It’s like being in a newspaper office, only from the 90s—just desks, seats, and many people at work. It’s no-nonsense, and I love it.

While it lacks aesthetics, its vibrant community makes up for it. This is evident in the facility’s event space, which almost always hosts events like workshops and meetings. What’s more, anyone can host an event for free—as long as it’s open to everyone.

Plus, I think DoES’ Week Notes is a nice touch. It’s like an online tribute board highlighting things members have done, like achievements and future projects. I think it’s great because it’s always good to be reminded you’re getting things done and accomplishing something.

However, I’m a bit bummed out at the limited number of walk-in desks (less than 20 by my count). It’s first come, first served too, so there’s a chance you’d not get one.

Pros

  • Has a no-nonsense atmosphere
  • Has a vibrant community
  • Organises workshops and other events

Cons

  • The space may be too simple for some
  • Limited number of hot desks

Provides free coffee

DoES is a great maker space and coworking space situated only 10 Minutes from Lime Street Station. If you ask nicely they give you a guided tour around all workshops and offices. They have great machines, such as hireable 3D printers, Laser Cutters and CNC machines, sewing machines etc etc. Plus Free Coffee.”

– Neil Morrin, Google Review

Offers a supportive environment

“DoES Liverpool provides a co-working and maker space situated in Liverpool city centre. In addition to the standard workshop tools, it has 3D printers, laser cutters, a CNC router, heat press, soldering station and a range of printers and plotters. More important still is its human capital. There is such a wealth of knowledge, support and encouragement to tap into. And if they don’t know, they almost certainly can put you in contact with someone who DoES!
